Class Description

This traditional style of Yoga uses asana (physical postures) pranayama (breath work) and meditation (dhyana) techniques to re-kindle our sense of balance, harmonising the mind body connection.

HA means sun, so expect dynamic and energising movements weaved through more introspective, cooling postures - THA means moon. This wonderful combination of opposite energies stretches us to help relieve tension, strengthens us to feel more at ease in our own body and encourages us to pay attention to the breath. When we unite these aspects and begin to calm the fluctuations of the mind, Yoga becomes a powerful tool for transformation.  This gentle class is suitable for those new to Yoga as well as seasoned students.

The raw space is not a Yoga studio. It's a space that invites you to reconnect with your body and soul in the most peaceful and grounding environment.

Join us at 6.00pm where you will be greeted with a refreshing drink. We've allowed 15 minutes for you to really ground yourself, take your time to connect in our beautiful gardens and relax into your class starting at 6.15pm.

Classes are 75minutes and incorporate Yoga asana (the postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation.

Together we will be exploring the tradition of Yoga. It's not about fancy technical moves or what you are wearing, it is about allowing your body to be felt, and giving your inner voice the space to be heard. So often we go about our day not noticing pains, tightness , stiffness and aches in our body. Our body is trying to talk to us - this is a space to listen, learn, soothe and soften.

You're invited to show up as you are - all abilities welcome. This is not a dedicated Yoga studio so please bring your own Yoga mat and any other props you like to practice with - blankets, bolster, cushions, blocks, eye pillow etc.

Your Facilitator:

Lauren Giancristofaro

Lauren fell in love with yoga, meditation, and breath work after a series of health challenges. Feeling like a prisoner in her own body, she was seeking a practice that allowed her to make peace with her circumstances, and meet herself exactly as she arrived.

Teaching yoga was a dream come true as it encouraged acceptance, intuitive movement, and a place where she could return home to herself unconditionally.

She has spent years devoted to studying this beautiful practice so she can share its magic with others. She has formal qualifications in Vinyasa, Yin, Prenatal, Postnatal, Yoga for Assisted Reproductive Therapies, and Yoga for Trauma (specialising in anxiety, depression, and body image).

Lauren is a heart-centred, trauma-aware space holder, and her intention is to provide you with guidance in such a way that you feel empowered to choose what feels like home for you. Her classes are woven with playful flow, purposeful meditation, mantra, and meaningful storytelling to take you on a journey.

She finds great joy infusing her classes with music, creative sequencing, and appropriate modifications so you feel safe enough to get lost in the moment. With her gooey-hearted nature, she is always working to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and validated.

Lauren also runs a business called The Supported Village, which is dedicated to creating opportunities to help soften the journey of life, through practices that anchor you and create safe rhythms within the self.

She is looking forward to meeting The Raw Space community very soon!
